Short answer: Yes, and in Québec City the Full package is the one to choose: it keeps RDS, TVA Sports, TVA, Noovo, ICI Radio-Canada Télé and Télé-Québec in one guide. In 2026–27, RDS has 45 regional Canadiens games in French and TVA Sports has 32 national ones. You only need Vidéotron or Bell internet, not their TV service, and you can try it free for 24 hours.

How do you watch the Canadiens in French from Québec City in 2026–27?

Mostly on RDS, then on TVA Sports. Bell Media kept the Canadiens’ regional French rights, but RDS’s share drops from 60 games to 45 this season. TVA Sports, owned by Quebecor, took a 12-year sublicence for national French NHL games from Rogers starting in 2026–27, and that package includes 32 Canadiens regular-season games plus every Canadiens playoff game.

Add those up and 77 of the 84 games are on French TV channels. The few left over are Wednesday-night games sold to a streaming service, so they won’t appear in any channel list, ours included. If you can’t find a game on RDS or TVA Sports, that’s usually why. The Canadiens’ official site shows the broadcaster for every date.

In English, TSN 2 carries 50 regional Canadiens games and Sportsnet has the national ones. With CBC out of NHL hockey from this season, English Saturday games are on Sportsnet too.

Start times are simple here, since Québec City shares Montreal’s Eastern Time. Most games start at 7 p.m. Western road trips push that to 9 or 10 p.m., and a 10 p.m. game in Vancouver or Seattle can end after midnight. On channels that support catch-up, you can watch the third period with your coffee the next morning.

Where can you watch the Remparts?

On TV only when a game is picked for a broadcast. Most Remparts games stream through the league’s own service rather than on a channel. TVA Sports has been the league’s French-language TV partner in recent seasons, and national CHL games have aired on TSN and RDS, so watch those slots for the Remparts. The QMJHL schedule names the broadcaster for each game.

The league has a newer name, too. In December 2023 it became the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (Ligue de hockey junior Maritimes Québec), with “Maritimes” replacing “Major”. The Remparts play at Centre Vidéotron, the arena built in the hope of bringing the NHL back to a city that has been without a team since the Nordiques left in 1995, and they won the Memorial Cup in 2023.

If following every Remparts game is what matters most, the league’s streaming pass is the better tool. IPTV Rich covers everything around it: the Canadiens, the Alouettes, the news and the rest of your evening TV.

Which channel, in which language? Québec City sports at a glance

This is where the teams Québec City follows most closely land this season, in both languages.

The Victoire are the reigning Walter Cup champions and the closest PWHL team to Québec City. Alouettes fans can count on RDS for the long haul: under the CFL’s new six-year deal with Bell Media, which starts in 2027, RDS keeps every Alouettes game. The 2026 Grey Cup is on TSN and CTV in English and on RDS in French; our post on how to watch the CFL and the Grey Cup has the details.

Which package does a French-speaking household need?

The Full package. In the 2021 census, 90.6% of Québec City residents named French as their only mother tongue, and the English-only package is built around English-language channels, so it isn’t meant for a French-speaking home. The Full package puts the French networks, the English ones and channels from other countries in a single TV guide.

These are the channels most Québec City homes reach for, all in the Full package:

  • News: TVA and LCN, ICI Radio-Canada Télé and RDI, Noovo.
  • Sport: RDS, RDS 2 and TVA Sports.
  • Kids and documentaries: Télé-Québec.
  • English, for the anglophone partner or the TSN regular: TSN, Sportsnet, CTV and CBC.

One thing to check during the trial: TVA and ICI Radio-Canada Télé both have Québec City stations with their own newscasts, and a channel list may carry the Montreal feed instead. Search for the local edition by name before you decide. Our post on French-language channels for Quebec viewers covers the whole French line-up, and this page also exists in French: IPTV à Québec.

Newcomer families who want TV from home will find channels from many countries in the Full package. What’s on offer for a given country can change from month to month, so we don’t name or guarantee individual foreign channels. Search for yours during the trial.

Vidéotron or Bell internet: does it change anything?

No. IPTV only needs the internet part of your plan. Vidéotron runs the cable network across most of the city and Bell sells fibre, and smaller providers resell access on those same lines. You keep the internet, drop the TV package if you want, and plug a streaming device into the TV. Vidéotron belongs to Quebecor, the group that also owns TVA and TVA Sports, but you still only need its internet.

The Helix and Fibe TV boxes are tied to their own services, so the IPTV app runs on something else: a Fire TV Stick, an Android TV box, a compatible smart TV or a MAG box. Our Android TV setup guide walks through the most common one.

What makes the biggest difference is the building you live in.

Stone and brick in Vieux-Québec and Saint-Jean-Baptiste

Thick masonry walls stop Wi-Fi quickly. If the router sits in the front room and the TV is behind a stone wall, run an Ethernet cable or use powerline adapters. A Wi-Fi extender helps only if it is placed where it can still see the router clearly.

Plexes in Limoilou, Saint-Roch and Saint-Sauveur

Stacked flats mean your neighbours’ routers sit a floor above and below yours. Put the streaming device on the 5 GHz band, choose a less crowded Wi-Fi channel in the router settings, and keep the router off the floor and out of the closet.

Sainte-Foy, Charlesbourg, Beauport and the newer suburbs

Bungalows and split-levels are friendlier to Wi-Fi, but a router in the basement beside the electrical panel is still a long way from a TV on the main floor. Moving it up one floor often does more than paying for a faster plan.

The edges: Val-Bélair, Lac-Saint-Charles and beyond

Toward the north end of the city, and out in Stoneham, Lac-Beauport or Île d’Orléans, some homes rely on Starlink or fixed wireless. Stick with HD there, about 5 Mbps per stream, rather than 4K at 25 Mbps. Test on a Saturday evening when the whole road is watching the Canadiens, because that’s when a shared link is under the most strain.

Who in Québec City should skip IPTV Rich?

Some people are better served elsewhere, and it’s better to say so before you pay:

  • You mostly watch Club illico, ICI TOU.TV or Crave. Those are on-demand apps; you don’t need live channels for them.
  • You want every Remparts game. Most stream only on the league’s own service.
  • You want to pay by credit card. We take Interac e-Transfer only.
  • You need someone on the phone. We have no phone line. Help is by live chat in French or English, every day from 9 a.m. to midnight, and by email.
  • Your rural plan has a tight data cap. A Full HD hockey game uses about 9 GB over three hours.

If none of that applies, the math is simple: 12 months on 1 device is $77, which is $127 less than paying $17 twelve times ($204). The full list of IPTV subscription prices covers 2 and 3 devices too, and our home page explains what you get with a Canadian IPTV service that includes French channels.

Many households here split their loyalties with Montreal, so our Montreal IPTV page is a useful comparison. For Outaouais families who also cross into Ontario, see IPTV in Ottawa–Gatineau, and the IPTV near me page lists every other city.

Questions from Québec City viewers

Is there a French version of this page?

Yes. The same information, written in French for Québec viewers, is on IPTV à Québec.

Why can’t I find tonight’s Canadiens game on RDS?

RDS has 45 of the 84 games this season. If the game isn’t on RDS, look on TVA Sports, which has 32 national games. A few Wednesday games are on a streaming service only and won’t be on any channel.

Can I use my Vidéotron Helix or Bell Fibe TV box?

No. Those boxes run their own provider’s TV service. Keep the internet and use a Fire TV Stick, an Android TV box, a compatible smart TV or a MAG box for IPTV Rich.

Can I watch Remparts games with IPTV Rich?

Only the ones that air on a TV channel, such as selected games on TVA Sports or a national CHL broadcast. Most Remparts games stream only on the league’s service.

Will the 2026 Grey Cup be on in French?

Yes. The Grey Cup is on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, on RDS in French and on TSN and CTV in English.
