Short answer: IPTV Rich works across Metro Vancouver on Telus PureFibre, Rogers (the former Shaw network), Novus or any other steady line. Canucks regional games are on Sportsnet Pacific and national games on Sportsnet. The catch is the clock: a 7 p.m. Eastern game starts at 4 p.m. here, so catch-up on supported channels does a lot of the work for people who get home at six.
What time do games start in Vancouver?
Three hours earlier than the listing you’ll see on most national sites, which are written in Eastern Time. Home Canucks games are the exception: they’re scheduled for Vancouver evenings. Here’s how a typical week converts.
| What’s on | Typical listed time | On your clock in Vancouver |
|---|---|---|
| Canucks home game at Rogers Arena | 7 p.m. PT | 7 p.m. |
| Leafs, Canadiens or Senators home game | 7 p.m. ET | 4 p.m. |
| Saturday Night Hockey, early game (traditional slot) | 7 p.m. ET | 4 p.m. |
| Saturday Night Hockey, late game (traditional slot) | 10 p.m. ET | 7 p.m. |
| Flames or Oilers home game | 7 p.m. MT | 6 p.m. |
| Raptors home game | 7:30 p.m. ET | 4:30 p.m. |
| NFL Sunday, early window | 1 p.m. ET | 10 a.m. |
| Premier League, Saturday 3 p.m. kickoff in England | 3 p.m. UK time | 7 a.m. for most of the year |
Two things make the early starts easier. Catch-up on supported channels lets you start a 4 p.m. game from the beginning when you walk in the door, as long as you stay off your phone. And most IPTV player apps show the TV guide in your device’s own time zone, so once the device is set to Pacific Time you don’t have to do the math at all.
The rest of BC isn’t uniform, either. The East Kootenays around Cranbrook and Golden run on Mountain Time, and the Peace region and Creston stay on Mountain Standard Time all year. Our IPTV near me hub has the full conversion table for every Canadian time zone.
Where do the Canucks, Lions and Whitecaps air in 2026–27?
Canucks
Regional Canucks games are on Sportsnet Pacific, under a deal that runs to 2033. National games are on Sportsnet, including Saturday Night Hockey, which took over Saturdays from Hockey Night in Canada on October 3. CBC no longer shows NHL games. The Canucks played on opening night, September 29, against the Oilers, and the regular season ends April 10. Check dates on the official Canucks schedule.
BC Lions, Whitecaps, Goldeneyes and the rest
- BC Lions (CFL) play at BC Place, with games on TSN and on RDS in French. The Grey Cup is November 15 in Calgary, on CTV, TSN and RDS.
- Whitecaps (MLS) also play at BC Place. Every MLS match streams on Apple TV in 2026, not on a Canadian channel. The regular season ends November 7 and the playoffs run to MLS Cup on December 18.
- Vancouver Goldeneyes (PWHL) start their second season on December 5. The league’s Canadian partners include CBC, Sportsnet and TSN.
- Vancouver FC and Pacific FC (CPL) play in Langley and in Langford on the Island; the league lists where to watch.
- Blue Jays (MLB) are on Sportsnet from April. A 7 p.m. game in Toronto is a 4 p.m. game here.
Telus PureFibre, Rogers or Novus: does the provider matter?
Less than your building does. All three can carry IPTV easily; they just share capacity in different places.
- Telus, which has its head office downtown, sells PureFibre, fibre to the home or suite, across much of the Lower Mainland. On fibre, the line itself is rarely the evening bottleneck. Wi-Fi usually is.
- Rogers bought Shaw in 2023 and began moving its services to the Rogers name that July. If you’re “still on Shaw”, you’re on that same cable network, shared by the homes on your node.
- Novus is a Vancouver company that wires apartment and condo buildings across Metro Vancouver with its own fibre. If your building is a Novus building, you’ll usually know from the welcome package.
- Independent providers rent Telus or Rogers lines, so they behave like the network underneath.
Glass towers in Yaletown, Coal Harbour, Metrotown and Brentwood
A tower suite has two Wi-Fi problems at once: concrete floors and a wall of neighbours’ networks. Put the streaming device on 5 GHz, or 6 GHz if both the device and your router support Wi-Fi 6E, and keep the router in the open rather than in the storage closet. If the game still stutters at the same hour every night, run a speed test plugged in and on Wi-Fi; if only Wi-Fi drops, a cable to the TV solves it.
Basement suites, laneway homes and Vancouver Specials
This is the most Vancouver of problems. Many renters live in a basement suite or a laneway house and share the landlord’s internet, with the router upstairs and a floor, a furnace room and ductwork in between. You can’t move a router you don’t control, so ask for one of these: an Ethernet run to your suite, a mesh point on your side of the floor, or MoCA adapters over the coax cable that many older houses, Vancouver Specials included, already have in the walls. Our Wi-Fi vs Ethernet guide shows how to test the difference before you ask.
The Fraser Valley, the Island and the cabin
Out in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Nanaimo or Kelowna, it’s mostly the same two networks, Telus and Rogers, so everything above applies. The difference starts at the cabin on the Sunshine Coast or the place up the valley, where the connection may be Starlink or a fixed wireless tower. Both can carry IPTV, but trees and mountain shadows matter for a dish, and a shared tower gets busy in the evening. Pick the HD version of a channel (5 Mbps) rather than Full HD (10 Mbps) if the picture stalls, and watch your data: a three-hour game in Full HD uses about 9 GB. Our guide to IPTV on rural internet with Starlink and fixed wireless has the settings to change.
Which package suits a Lower Mainland household?
Choose English-only if your TV time is the Canucks, the Lions and the local news. Choose Full if anyone at home watches in another language; it adds channels from many countries, plus French channels such as RDS, TVA Sports and ICI Radio-Canada Télé.
Across the region, that second language is often Cantonese or Mandarin in Richmond and Burnaby, Punjabi in Surrey and Delta, Tagalog across the Lower Mainland, Korean in Coquitlam, Persian on the North Shore, and Vietnamese and Hindi in many neighbourhoods. The City publishes census profiles by neighbourhood on the Vancouver open data portal.
We don’t promise a particular channel from a particular country, because international line-ups change. If one channel is the reason you’re buying, search for it in the trial first. Our guide to international channels for Canada’s communities explains how the country sections are laid out.
Can you get Vancouver local news?
Yes. The Vancouver stations of CTV, Global and Citytv carry the supper-hour and late news, and CBC has its own BC newscast. When a winter storm, a snowfall on the Lions Gate or a summer wildfire is the story, CBC News Network and CTV News Channel run all day. Catch-up on supported channels means the six o’clock news is still there at seven. Local station feeds can change, so check that yours is in the guide while you’re on the trial.

Is IPTV Rich right for you in Vancouver?
It fits a Canucks household that wants Sportsnet Pacific, the national games, TSN for the Lions and international channels in one guide, paid once instead of monthly. It’s the wrong choice in a few cases:
- You need help late in the evening. Our live chat is staffed from 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern, which is 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Vancouver. A Canucks game that starts at 7 p.m. runs past desk hours, so set up and test before game day. Messages sent later are answered in the morning.
- The Whitecaps are your only team. MLS is on Apple TV in 2026.
- You share Wi-Fi you can’t change, and it drops in the evening. Fix the connection first.
- You only watch streaming movies. Then live channels aren’t worth paying for.
What does it cost in Vancouver?
Prices are the same in every province, and there’s no BC surcharge. One device for one month is $17; six months is $47; twelve months is $77. A household where the Canucks are on in the living room while someone watches a drama upstairs needs 2 devices: $28 for one month or $128 for twelve. Every option is on the IPTV subscription plans page, paid once by Interac e-Transfer with nothing renewing by itself. For the bigger picture of our Canadian IPTV service, start at the home page.
Heading east over the Rockies? Our Calgary guide covers the Flames and the Grey Cup at McMahon Stadium, and the Edmonton guide covers the Oilers, who opened the season against the Canucks.
Questions from Vancouver viewers
Are Eastern games live in Vancouver or delayed?
Live. A 7 p.m. Eastern game is on at 4 p.m. Pacific. If you’d rather watch it after work, catch-up on supported channels lets you start it from the beginning.
Which channel has regional Canucks games?
Sportsnet Pacific. National games are on Sportsnet, and Saturday nights are on Saturday Night Hockey. Monday games stream on Sportsnet+ and Wednesday games on Prime Video.
Does IPTV Rich work in a Novus building?
Yes. It works on any internet connection. Novus, Telus, Rogers or an independent provider all work if the TV holds about 10 Mbps per Full HD screen in the evening.
Can I watch 4K on Telus PureFibre?
Where the channel broadcasts in 4K, yes, if the TV device gets 25 Mbps steadily. On fibre the line usually has room; check the Wi-Fi to the TV, or use a cable.
When can I reach support from Vancouver?
Every day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific, through the live chat on our support page. That’s 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern.
