Short answer: Install a player app on your device (TiviMate on a Fire TV Stick or Google TV, IBO Player on a Samsung or LG TV, an App Store player on Apple TV), then enter the username, password and server URL we send you. Channels and the TV guide load in a few minutes. On a MAG box, send us its MAC address and we link it.

Which device are you setting up?

Pick your device to open its step-by-step guide: the app to install, where to type your login, the settings that matter and the fixes for a channel that won’t play.

Roku has no good IPTV player app in its store. If you have a Roku TV, a Fire TV Stick plugged into a spare HDMI port is the simplest fix.

Setting up several screens? Start with the TV you watch most, then do the others. The same login works on every device; 1 device on the plan means 1 stream playing at a time.

Which IPTV app should you use on each device?

Use the “Recommended” app unless you already have a favourite. Every app plays the same channels; they differ in layout and settings. “Difficulty” is how fiddly the first install is.

What does an IPTV Rich login look like?

Your login arrives by email and in live chat once your free trial starts or your Interac e-Transfer is matched to your order. It comes in three forms that open the same channels. Use the one your app asks for.

Xtream Codes login: username, password and server URL

Most apps want this one: three items, and the app fetches channels, the TV guide and movies in one go. Apps may call it “Xtream Codes”, “XC login” or “Login with Xtream”.

The app asks forWhat to enterCommon mistake
Name, playlist name or any nameAnything you like, such as IPTV RichNone: it’s only a label on your screen
UsernameThe username in your login message, exactly as writtenTyping a capital letter as lower case
PasswordThe password in your login messageCopying a space at the end
Server URL, host or portal URLThe server address, including http:// and the number after the colon (the port)Leaving out the port number, or changing http to https

M3U playlist link

An M3U link is one long web address with your username and password built in. Use it in apps that only take a playlist address: VLC on a computer, the upload page of apps like IBO Player, some older TV apps. If the TV guide stays empty, the app may need a separate guide address (EPG or XMLTV link); ask us in chat. Treat the M3U link like a password: anyone who has it can play on your login.

MAG portal URL and MAC address

MAG boxes don’t use a username. They use a portal URL plus the box’s MAC address, a hardware ID printed on the sticker under the box in pairs like 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. You send us the MAC, we link it to your plan and reply with the portal URL to type into the box. The Formuler, BuzzTV and MAG guide shows where it goes.

What should you check before setting up IPTV for the first time?

Ten minutes on this list prevents most of the problems we see in chat on day one.

  1. Test your internet at the TV, not beside the router. One stream needs about 5 Mbps in HD, 10 Mbps in Full HD and 25 Mbps in 4K. Add one figure per screen playing at once and keep about 30% spare. The connection check on our IPTV Canada home page measures your own line.
  2. Update the device. Install waiting system updates before you add apps.
  3. Use a cable if you can. Ethernet beats Wi-Fi for live TV. Otherwise use 5 GHz Wi-Fi; see how to measure Wi-Fi vs Ethernet at home.
  4. Install the player from its official source. Skip “modded” or “cracked” copies: they break, and some carry malware.
  5. Copy and paste your login where you can. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive.
  6. Turn off any VPN for the first test. Then read whether a VPN helps or hurts IPTV in Canada.
  7. Give the first load a few minutes. Over 57,000 channels and their guide take a while the first time.
  8. Test three channels at your busiest hour. Try CP24, TSN 1 and, if you watch in French, RDS. During the free 24-hour trial, test at 8 p.m., not at noon.
  9. Count your screens. Three TVs playing at once need a 3-device plan. See IPTV subscription plans and prices in CAD.

Questions people ask

Can I install IPTV Rich on more than one device?

Yes. Install your login on as many devices as you like. Only as many play at the same time as your plan allows: one on a 1-device plan, three on a 3-device plan. Prices are on the IPTV subscription page.

Do I have to pay for the player app?

Sometimes. TiviMate has a free version and a paid upgrade, IBO Player charges an activation fee after its trial, and some App Store players cost a few dollars or show ads. That payment goes to the app maker, not to us. VLC and Kodi on a computer are free.

Will you help me set it up?

Yes. Start the free 24-hour trial in live chat, tell us your device, and we’ll send your login with the guide for that device. If you get stuck, send a photo of the screen. For MAG boxes we link the MAC address on our side.

Does IPTV Rich work on a Roku TV?

Not well on its own. Roku’s store has no good IPTV player. The simplest fix is to plug a Fire TV Stick 4K Max or a Google TV Streamer into a spare HDMI port and follow the Fire TV guide or the Google TV guide.
