Short answer: IPTV Rich gives one free 24-hour trial per person. Open live chat, sign in with your mobile number, tap the free trial button and tell us your device. Free 24-hour trial
Ask for it in live chat: enter your number, tap "Free trial", and your trial login arrives in the conversation.
How do I get the IPTV free trial?
You ask for it in live chat. There’s no form to fill in, no card to enter and no account to create.
- Open live chat. Go to the IPTV Rich support page on your phone or computer.
- Sign in with your mobile number. Your number is your key to the chat; there’s no password. Use the same number later and your trial and order history are still there.
- Tap “Free 24h trial”. This tells the desk what you need, so you don’t have to explain.
- Tell us your device and app. For example “Fire TV Stick 4K, TiviMate” or “Samsung TV, not sure which app”. We send the setup guide that matches.
- Install the player app and type in your trial login. The username and password arrive in the conversation. Our device setup guides show exactly where to type them on each device.
- Start testing. Work through the checklist below, in order, on the TV and the connection you will really use.
The desk is staffed every day from 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern. A request sent overnight is answered in the morning, though an automatic assistant may reply first. Ask a couple of hours before the evening you want to test. A trial requested at 5 p.m. on a Saturday covers Saturday night hockey and Sunday afternoon football.
What should I test in 24 hours?
Test what you will actually watch, at the time you’ll watch it, on the screens you’ll use. A channel that plays well at noon on a phone proves very little about the living room TV on a Saturday night. Here’s the checklist we suggest.
| Test | When | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Your 3 to 5 most-watched channels | Your usual viewing hours | They open in a few seconds and keep playing |
| A live game | Evening, 8 to 11 p.m. Eastern | A full period or quarter with no repeated freezing |
| TV guide (EPG) | Any time | Your channels show listings, at the right times |
| Catch-up | After a show has aired | Earlier programmes play on supported channels |
| Each device | One at a time | Same channels, same result on every screen |
| Wi-Fi vs wired | Same channel, same hour | Little or no difference between the two |
1. Your busiest channels at your busiest time
Open the channels you’ll use most at the hour you normally watch them: CP24 at breakfast, CTV or Global at 6 p.m., TSN 4 for the Leafs at 7 p.m. Evenings are when Canadian home internet is busiest, so that’s the hour that counts. Our guide to why IPTV slows down in the evening on Bell and Rogers explains why.
2. Live sports in the evening
Live sports is the hardest test: fast motion and big audiences at the same moment. Watch at least one full period or quarter of a live game, such as Saturday Night Hockey on Sportsnet, a Raptors game on TSN or Sportsnet, or an NFL or CFL game on TSN. If something freezes, note how often, for how long, and whether other channels freeze at the same time. That detail helps the desk find the cause.
3. The TV guide
Open the guide and check that your channels show what’s on now and next. If the times are off by an hour or more, the app’s time-zone or guide offset setting usually fixes it. Our article on fixing an IPTV guide that isn’t updating covers the other causes.
4. Catch-up
Catch-up works on supported channels, not all of them. Pick a channel showing the catch-up mark in your app and play something that aired earlier today. If rewinding the 6 o’clock news matters to you, ask in chat which of your channels support it.
5. Each device you plan to use
Install the app on every TV, stick, box or phone you plan to use and test them one at a time. The same channel can behave differently on a smart TV’s own app and on a Fire TV Stick plugged into that TV. If you plan to buy a plan for 2 or 3 devices, tell the desk, so we can explain how to check more than one screen.
6. Wi-Fi versus a wired connection
Play the same channel on Wi-Fi, then with an Ethernet cable plugged into the device. If wired is clean and Wi-Fi freezes, the problem is your Wi-Fi, not the service, and moving the router or switching to the 5 GHz band often fixes it. Here’s how to measure the Wi-Fi vs Ethernet difference at home.
Is your internet fast enough for the trial?
You need about 5 Mbps per screen for HD, 10 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps for 4K. Add the figure for every screen playing at the same time, then keep roughly 30% spare for the rest of the house. The check below measures your own line from this browser, right now.
- HD 720p—
- Full HD 1080p—
- 4K—
This measures your browser's download speed and response time to the nearest server of this website. It does not test the IPTV streams themselves: that is what the free trial is for. Nothing is stored.
For a second opinion, run a test at speedtest.net at the same hour as your viewing. If your line tests at around 10 Mbps, a rural connection for example, plan on HD on one screen. 4K isn’t realistic there, and the trial will show it.
What happens when the trial ends?
The trial login stops working after 24 hours. Nothing is charged and there’s nothing to cancel: we never had your payment details.
To keep watching, order a plan on the IPTV subscription page. A trial login is separate from a paid one, so at checkout choose “First-time customer” and we create a new login for you. Type the new username and password into the app you already installed. You pay once by Interac e-Transfer, and the login arrives by email and in live chat once the payment is matched, usually within minutes during desk hours.
Prices start at $17 for one month on one device. Twelve months on one device is $77, which is $127 less than paying $17 twelve times ($204). Nothing renews automatically.
If the trial didn’t go well, tell us what happened before you decide. Most problems are an app setting or the Wi-Fi, and we fix those together in chat. If it still doesn’t work at your place, then the service isn’t right for you, and that’s what the trial is for. If you do buy and the service stops working for you within 7 days and support can’t fix it, the refund policy gives your money back.
Can I get more than one trial?
No. It’s one trial per person, and the desk checks for repeat requests. Plan your 24 hours so they cover the evening and the devices that matter. If something goes wrong during the trial, say so in the same conversation and we’ll look at it with you.
When is the trial not worth your time?
- If you only watch Netflix or Crave, you don’t need an IPTV subscription at all.
- If your connection can’t hold 5 Mbps for one HD screen in the evening, fix the internet first. No IPTV service will play well on it.
- If you want one bill with your internet and zero setup, cable may suit your home better. Our IPTV vs cable comparison lays out the trade-offs.
For everyone else, 24 hours is enough to know. Start with the free trial, then compare IPTV Canada plans in CAD once you’ve seen it on your own TV.
Free trial questions
Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No. You only enter your mobile number to sign in to live chat. IPTV Rich never takes card numbers; paid plans are paid by Interac e-Transfer.
Does the trial turn into a paid plan by itself?
No. The trial ends after 24 hours and nothing is charged. A paid plan starts only when you order one and send the e-Transfer yourself.
Can I ask for a trial at night?
Yes, but the desk is staffed from 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern, so an overnight request is answered in the morning. An automatic assistant may reply in the meantime.
Can I test the trial on my Firestick and my phone?
Yes. Install the app on each one and test them one at a time with the same login. The Firestick setup guide shows where to type the login on a Fire TV.
Can I see the full channel list during the trial?
Yes. The trial shows the channel list in your app, and the desk can answer questions about specific channels in chat. Our IPTV Canada channel guide lists the main Canadian networks and sports channels.
