Short answer: In 2026–27, Sportsnet has the national NHL package (Monday games stream only on Sportsnet+), Prime Video has Wednesday games and TVA Sports has the French national games. TSN, CTV and RDS carry the NFL and the CFL, including the Grey Cup on November 15 in Calgary. TSN and Sportsnet split the Raptors, and Sportsnet has the Blue Jays.

Who shows which league in Canada in 2026–27?

Sports rights in Canada are split between Rogers (Sportsnet), Bell (TSN, CTV and RDS), Quebecor (TVA Sports) and a growing list of streaming services. This table is the one-screen version, based on what the leagues and broadcasters announced up to October 2026. The sections below give the details and the dates.

“Check local listings” means we couldn’t confirm a French-language home for that league this season, so we’re not guessing. Rights also change mid-contract more often than people think, so treat this as the map, not the timetable.

Where are NHL games on TV in 2026–27?

National NHL games in English are on Sportsnet, with Wednesday games on Prime Video and Monday games streaming only on Sportsnet+. This is the first season of Rogers’ new 12-year national deal, which runs from 2026–27 through 2037–38, and it changed three things most fans noticed straight away.

  • CBC no longer airs NHL games. Rogers stopped sublicensing games to CBC. The Hockey Night in Canada name stays with CBC, so Sportsnet’s Saturday show is now called Saturday Night Hockey, still built around the seven Canadian teams, with Ron MacLean hosting.
  • Monday games moved to streaming. Monday Night Hockey is exclusive to Sportsnet+ this season. Daily Faceoff reported that viewers who get Sportsnet through a TV provider need a $12.99 monthly add-on to see those games.
  • Wednesdays belong to Prime Video. Prime Video signed its own 12-year deal for Wednesday night national games in English and French, plus two first-round and one second-round playoff series each spring. The NHL’s Wednesday Night Hockey schedule announcement lists 27 games for 2026–27, included with a Prime membership at no extra cost.

Sportsnet also says it has 35% more national broadcasts than last season, and that over 150 games that used to be blacked out regionally now air nationally. That’s good news for fans living outside their team’s home region, like an Oilers fan in Halifax.

French-language NHL games

TVA Sports and TVA Sports Direct carry the French national games under a new 12-year sublicence from Rogers, announced in September 2026. According to the NHL’s announcement, that means up to 350 regular-season games a season, including 32 Canadiens games, every Canadiens playoff game, and in each playoff year six of the eight first-round series, three of the four second-round series, the conference finals and the Stanley Cup Final. Regional Canadiens games in French have been on RDS.

Regional games by team

Regional games are the ones not picked up nationally, and they’re blacked out outside the team’s home region. This is where each Canadian team’s regional games have been airing; check the team’s broadcast schedule, because a single game can move.

Time zones shape a hockey night more than anything else. A 7 p.m. Eastern game in Toronto is 4 p.m. in Vancouver, and a 7 p.m. Pacific game in Vancouver starts at 10 p.m. in Toronto and 11:30 p.m. in St. John’s. For game-by-game hockey details, see our guide on how to watch the 2026–27 NHL season in Canada without cable, and if your stream cuts out in the third period, our post on fixing stream interruptions during NHL games in Ontario and Quebec.

Where can I watch the NFL and the Super Bowl in Canada?

The NFL in Canada is on CTV, TSN and RDS, with DAZN streaming every game. Bell Media’s split has been steady for several seasons: CTV carries Sunday afternoon games (which game you see depends on where you live), TSN has the national prime-time games on Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights, and RDS covers the league in French. All three carry the playoffs.

DAZN includes NFL Game Pass in its Canadian subscription, which streams every preseason, regular-season and playoff game. TSN’s own page lists NFL RedZone and 24 extra NFL games in its Premium tier. If you watch one team that isn’t on your local CTV feed on Sundays, DAZN or RedZone is how you’d follow it officially.

Super Bowl LXI is on Sunday, February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Bell aired last season’s Super Bowl LX on TSN, CTV and RDS; when we checked in October 2026, we hadn’t seen Bell’s announcement for the 2027 game, so confirm closer to the date.

Where are the CFL and the Grey Cup?

The CFL is on TSN and RDS, with CTV for the biggest games, and the 113th Grey Cup is on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. The league says the game airs nationally on CTV, TSN and RDS. If you’re in Calgary that week, our IPTV Calgary page covers local channels and providers.

The bigger news is next season. On May 28, 2026, the CFL announced six-year media deals starting in 2027. Bell Media’s release confirms TSN stays the main home, with 60 regular-season games, six playoff games and the Grey Cup, which will also be simulcast on CTV and Crave. TSN keeps Thursday and Friday Night Football. RDS keeps the French rights. DAZN becomes a new partner with an exclusive Saturday night game each week, about a quarter of the 81-game regular season, and YouTube streams preseason games.

So from 2027, a fan who wants every regular-season game will need both TSN and DAZN. For the full Grey Cup viewing guide, see how to watch the CFL and the Grey Cup in Canada.

Where are the Raptors and the NBA?

Raptors games are split between TSN and Sportsnet, and Prime Video adds a national NBA package in Canada starting this season. Last season’s schedule had 40 Raptors games on each network, and both covered the playoffs with their own broadcasts. We haven’t seen this season’s exact split, so check each game.

Prime Video’s NBA deal starts in 2026–27. MobileSyrup reported in May 2026 that the Canadian package covers 66 regular-season games, the NBA Cup, all six play-in games and first- and second-round playoff games. It doesn’t include every game, so a Raptors fan still needs TSN and Sportsnet for most of the season. An evening tip-off in Toronto is late afternoon in Vancouver, which suits West Coast fans after work.

Where are the Blue Jays and MLB?

The Blue Jays are on Sportsnet, which Rogers owns along with the team, and on the Sportsnet+ streaming service. Dan Shulman calls the games, with Joe Siddall and Caleb Joseph as analysts, according to Sportsnet’s 2026 crew announcement, and Sportsnet 590 The FAN carries the radio call.

Sportsnet also carries the MLB postseason and the World Series in Canada. After the World Series, baseball goes quiet until spring training in February and Opening Day in late March 2027. That’s worth knowing if you’re subscribing to Sportsnet+ mainly for baseball: the months between November and March have no regular-season games.

Where can I watch the Premier League, Champions League and MLS?

Each of the big soccer competitions sits with a different service in Canada. None of them is on traditional TV in full.

  • Premier League: Fubo holds exclusive Canadian rights through 2027–28 and streams all 380 matches. The 2026–27 season runs from August 21, 2026, to May 30, 2027. Use Fubo’s Canadian service; the US version has a different lineup.
  • Champions League: DAZN holds exclusive Canadian rights to UEFA club competitions through 2026–27. Some matches have also aired on TSN under a sublicence, so check TSN’s listings for the bigger nights.
  • MLS: Every match streams on Apple TV. TSN and RDS carry a selection in English and French, with Toronto FC, CF Montréal and the Vancouver Whitecaps featured heavily, and the league says some playoff matches, including MLS Cup, will air there too.

European kick-off times are early for Canadians, and very early out west.

Champions League, 6:45 p.m. Central Europe12:45 p.m.9:45 a.m.2:15 p.m.

Watch the clock changes. Europe falls back on October 25, 2026, but Canada doesn’t until November 1, so for that one week every European match starts an hour later than usual here. It happens again in spring: Canada moves forward on March 14, 2027, and Europe on March 28, so for those two weeks the matches also start an hour later than the table shows.

Where is Formula 1?

TSN and RDS are the exclusive Canadian home of Formula 1 for 2026, covering every race, practice and qualifying session, according to Bell Media’s season announcement. French coverage is exclusive to RDS, and TSN+ streams companion feeds for every race. The Canadian Grand Prix moved to May this year and aired on May 24 on TSN and CTV.

In June 2025, Formula 1 announced that the Montréal race stays on the calendar through 2035, along with a long-term extension of Bell Media’s rights. Most European races start around 9 a.m. Eastern, which is 6 a.m. in Vancouver. Races in Asia and Australia fall overnight for most of Canada, which is where catch-up and replays earn their keep.

What big tournaments and finals are coming up?

What internet speed do I need to watch sports in HD?

Plan on 5 Mbps per stream for 720p HD and 10 Mbps for 1080p Full HD. Add up every screen that plays at the same time, then keep about 30% extra for phones, laptops and everything else in the house. Sports are the hardest test for a connection because fast motion needs more data and games fall at the busiest hours of the week.

QualitySpeed per streamData per hourA 3-hour game
SD3 MbpsAbout 0.7 GBAbout 2 GB
HD 720p5 Mbps1.5 to 2 GB4.5 to 6 GB
Full HD 1080p10 MbpsAbout 3 GBAbout 9 GB
4K25 Mbps7 to 10 GB21 to 30 GB

Two worked examples. A Saturday with the hockey in Full HD on the main TV and a soccer replay in HD in the basement is 15 Mbps, so you want about 20 Mbps free. A Super Bowl party with the game in 4K and a second TV in Full HD is 35 Mbps, so plan on about 46 Mbps. On a capped rural plan, remember that a single 4K game can use 21 to 30 GB.

A wired Ethernet connection to the main TV is the single best upgrade for game nights. For more on speed and latency for 4K, see our guide on the internet speed and ping you need for 4K IPTV.

Is live sport available in 4K?

Only some of it. 4K is available where the channel’s source broadcasts in 4K, which mostly means big sports events and some movies. Most regular-season games are produced in HD, and no service can turn an HD broadcast into true 4K. An app that promises “every game in 4K” is promising something the broadcasters don’t send.

If you want 4K for the big nights, you need three things: a 4K TV, a 4K-capable device such as a Fire TV Stick 4K or a recent Android TV box, and about 25 Mbps for that one stream. If your line tops out at 10 Mbps, as many rural fixed-wireless plans do, stick to HD. A clean 1080p picture looks better than a 4K stream that keeps dropping to a lower quality.

Why is my stream behind the live game, and how do I avoid spoilers?

Every stream runs behind the live action, including the official apps, because the picture has to be encoded, sent and buffered before you see it. The delay changes with the service, the app, the device and your buffer setting, so we don’t publish a number. What you’ll notice is a neighbour cheering, or a score alert on your phone, before you see the goal.

  • Turn off score alerts from sports apps during the game.
  • Stay out of group chats until the period or quarter ends.
  • Don’t mix sources in one room. Cable on one TV and a stream on another will be out of step and spoil each other.
  • Keep the buffer moderate. A bigger buffer protects against freezing but adds a little more delay. On a solid wired connection, you can usually keep it smaller.

How does IPTV Rich fit with all these rights holders?

IPTV Rich carries live Canadian sports channels, including TSN 1 to 5, Sportsnet Ontario, East, West, Pacific, One and 360, RDS, RDS 2 and TVA Sports, alongside CTV, CBC, Citytv and Global. That covers the cable-channel side of the table at the top of this page. Our channel index lists the Canadian channels and leagues, and our guide to French-language channels for Quebec viewers covers RDS, TVA Sports and Noovo in detail.

Streaming-only packages are different. Prime Video’s Wednesday games, Sportsnet+ Monday games, DAZN, Fubo and Apple TV are services of their own. If one particular game matters to you, ask in live chat before you buy, and use the 24-hour trial on a game night to see the channels you care about on your own TV.

A plain word on legality: IPTV as a technology is legal in Canada. Whether a given stream is legal depends on whether the channel owner licensed it. IPTV Rich does not host content, and viewers are responsible for what they watch where they live.

Here are our plans. They’re one-time payments by Interac e-Transfer with no auto-renewal: a full NHL season and playoffs fits in 12 months, which is $77 on 1 device or $128 on 2.

When should I buy the official services instead?

Buy from the rights holders if you want guaranteed access to every game of one team, or if official, licensed streams matter to you. For a Leafs fan, that’s Sportsnet+, TSN and Prime Video; for an NFL fan, DAZN. It costs more, and we’ve worked out how much in our guide to cable vs IPTV costs in 2026, but it’s the only route that guarantees every game, including the streaming-exclusive ones.

IPTV also isn’t the right fit if your internet can’t hold 5 Mbps per screen on a Saturday night, or if you only watch one big event a year. For the Grey Cup alone, CTV over a free antenna may be all you need in many cities. If you want to see how our channels hold up during a real game first, the free trial is the way to check.

Questions people ask

Is Hockey Night in Canada still on CBC?

No. From 2026–27, CBC no longer airs NHL games. Sportsnet’s Saturday broadcast is now called Saturday Night Hockey, and CBC keeps the Hockey Night in Canada name.

Where are Monday night NHL games in 2026–27?

Monday Night Hockey streams only on Sportsnet+ this season. Viewers who get Sportsnet through a TV provider were told they need a $12.99 monthly add-on to see those games.

What channel is the 2026 Grey Cup on?

The 113th Grey Cup, on Sunday, November 15, 2026, in Calgary, airs on CTV, TSN and RDS.

Where can I watch the Premier League in Canada?

Fubo has exclusive Canadian rights through 2027–28 and streams all 380 matches. It’s a streaming service, not a cable channel.

How much internet do I need to watch a game in HD?

About 5 Mbps for 720p or 10 Mbps for 1080p per screen, plus about 30% extra for the rest of the house. 4K needs about 25 Mbps for one stream.
